The New Meaning to Work

31 January 2010 No Comment

Things have been a bit slow around here.  There have been good and bad reasons for that.  The good reasons are involving starting a new consulting project which is eating up a huge amount of my time, while also getting engaged.  To a girl, not a consulting project.  The bad news is that I have just been lazy (in some sense) about getting things updated on the site.  It’s not that I have stopped writing.  In fact I have a few month backup of content I’ve created.  It’s that I’ve been holding off on doing that until I upgraded the site.  And as things are sometimes on the internet, that was more complicated than I expected.

I believe the internet should make our lives better.  But sometimes it just makes us want to rip out our hair.

Now if you’re reading this post for the first time, then you’re entering into the conversation at an exciting point.  Meaning to Work is really taking off.  And in honor of that, I wanted to refocus the purpose of this website.  While it has always been about bringing meaning to work, I have brought an added focus to that point.  You will see topics fall into five broad categories.

Psychology

Meaning to Work

Workplace

Social Media

Change Management

Those five broad categories will give you better insight into understanding what it means to bring meaning to work, as well as how to increase and draw out that meaning.

If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll see that this place looks a lot different.  I wanted to get a simplified but “clean” look to the website.  This will help streamline your experience so you can spend less time navigating meaning to work, and more time applying what you’ve learned.

Over the coming weeks (and months) I’ll be making tweaks here and there to the website as I notice glitches and issues.  I’ve tried to cover all the bases, but inevitably something falls through the cracks.  So if you see something that needs fixing or something you’d like added, drop me a line and we’ll see what we can do!

In the meantime, enjoy the reloaded Meaning to Work!
