Where Do You Work?

15 October 2010 No Comment

Where do you work?  Not in the sense of the name of your company.  But where do you physically work?  As our society moves more and more into the digital age, some people have begun to question the need for something as simple as the desk.  (Personally I can’t imagine living in a world without desks, but that’s just me.)

It’s those types of questions though – do desks even matter? – that I find so interesting.  Here at Meaning To Work, these are the types of questions that I find so interesting.  When people start asking things like, “do desks even matter?” I naturally start paying attention.  The how’s and where’s of our work go a long way in determining how our meaning plays out in our work.

So check out this great video on the desk from Imaginative Sources

Desk – Music and Sound Design from Aaron Trinder Film:Motion:Music on Vimeo.

(On a side note, isn’t it interesting that this video would never have been made if people hadn’t been passionate about something as simple as “the desk”?  Not to beat the proverbial dead horse, but you only have that kind of passion when you bring your meaning to your work.  You don’t get that kind of idea if you’re just mailing it in at work.)
